“Raise a Glass for Billy” Celebrity Bartending Event

On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 “Raise a Glass for Billy” Celebrity Bartending fundraiser, held at the Trinity Pub in the Irish Cultural Center of New England was a huge success! The 15th anniversary of Billy’s clinic founded by Mags Riordan in memory of her son Billy who drowned in Lake Malawi was the honoree of the evening. The taps flowed, pints were poured, and tip jars overflowed with the generosity of the guests in attendance.

Billy’s Malawi Project USA’s mission is to raise funds for Billy’s clinic in Chembe Village of Cape Mclear, Malawi. We work to help save lives a world away. The Celebrity Bartender event more than surpassed our expectations.  From 5 o’clock to 8 o’clock that evening over $3000.00 was raised! These funds will help save the lives of those who otherwise would be forgotten. We can’t thank our Celebrity Bartenders and the other volunteers of that evening who help to make it a success!

A very big “Thank You”  to the Celebrity Bartenders of the night….Springfield City Councilor Tim Allen, Nuts and Bolts musician Tim Donaghue, Majestic Theater Producing Director Danny Eaton, Elms College professor Amanda Garcia, Berkshire Bank VP Business Banker Marie Meserve Lucier, New England Futbol Club’s Ben Masse, Laura McNeil and Damien Murray of The History Department at Elms College, Elms College Director of Student Engagement Collin McQuade, Mark Meserve of Fathers and Sons, and Kerri Sullivan of the Springfield Public Schools and the St. Patrick’s Committee of Holyoke, author Suzanne Strempek Shea. We also can’t forget to also thank our Master Ceremonies, Lawyer Caroline Murray and General Manager of Trinity Pub Sheri Hannifan who helped to make the night fun and memorable!

Finally, the biggest thank you goes to those who came, celebrated, offered their support and whose contributions caused the tip jar to overflow! It is because of their generosity that it is possible for Billy’s Clinic to do the important work that they do.
